Patrick is the son of a cattle rancher and forester. He and his husband live in a small town in western Montana, where he teaches at the local high school.

When he isn’t engaged in teaching, or fixing fence on his dad’s ranch, he is an avid outdoorsman - hiking, canoeing, camping, skiing, and enjoying the natural world. He continuously adds to the list of countries he has travelled to whenever possible. He loves to experiment in the kitchen and eat the rewards.

Writing became Patrick’s hobby to expand his own horizons, telling positive stories about gay men in the west.
